The Federations associated with the FECEC are in line with the philosophy of European values represented by the Treaty of Rome of 25 March 1957, which founded the European Community and affirms an ever closer union among the peoples of Europe, based on the free movement of workers, capital and services.
On 7 February 1992 in Maastricht, a new treaty gave life to the European Union, marking a new stage in the integration process by confirming the attachment to the rights set out in the Community Charter of Social Rights of Workers, adopted by the Heads of State at the European Council in Strasbourg on 8 December 1989.
The European currency, the confirmation of more and more freedom of movement and the project of an effective political union among the peoples of Europe represent unwavering values for FECEC, the member Federations and the Trade Unions of the banking and insurance professions.
The Treaty of Nice of February 26, 2001 is entirely dedicated to the enlargement of the Union to all the European peoples and the FECEC, by fully acknowledging it, assumes the honorary commitment to associate all the Federations grouping the Executives of the Financial Institutions of the Countries that are now and in the future members of the European Union. FECEC supports the adoption of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, adopted in Nice on December 7, 2000, which confirms the values of freedom, democracy, equality and solidarity within the framework of the institution of a European nationality.
FECEC is committed to work in the Community Institutions for the realization of social dialogue, both general and sectoral and, specifically, for the affirmation of the rights provided for in articles 12 (freedom of assembly and association), 15 (professional freedom and the right to work), 23 (equality between men and women), principles defined in Chapter 4 (articles 27 to 38) on the theme of solidarity of this Charter.
The European Federation of Managers and Executives in the Banking sector known as F.E.C.E.C., was established in AMSTERDAM (NETHERLANDS) on 13 October 1989.
